Shergold Guitars FAQs

Q: Are Shergold guitars the same as they were in the 1970s?
( + )

No. Although we've taken inspiration from the originals, they have been completely re-engineered, redesigned and modernised for the 21st century.

Q: Where are Shergold guitars made?
( + )

They are made in our workshops in Indonesia and China by skilled guitar builders.

Q: How much has Patrick Eggle really been involved?
( + )

From the very beginning. Patrick took a blank sheet of paper and an original Shergold guitar and did what he does best: Create an awesome guitar

Q: Is Shergold anything to do with Faith acoustic guitars?
( + )

Both Shergold and Faith are designed by Patrick Eggle, and many of our guitars are made in separate parts of the same (now expanded) workshops in Indonesia.

Q: Do you source your wood responsibly?
( + )

Yes we do. All wood used on our guitars is from FSC certified sources in Indonesia and China. The Rosewood used on our Classic Series guitars is from Indonesia, from certified and government approved sources.

Q: Do you employ ethical working practises?
( + )

We certainly do. Shergold guitars come from specific workshops who we have known and worked with for many years. The workshops are run by a family who employ woodworking graduates and offer training for many others. The craftsmen work from 8 to 5pm, 5 days per week. Everyone gets a lunch break, annual holidays and pension provision.

Q: Can I be an endorsed Shergold artist?
( + )

Maybe. Drop us a line through the contact form and give us your pitch. We’re always looking for exciting artists who choose differently. We like to hear from all Shergold players though! Remember that you can post pictures and video to our Instagram and Facebook pages... remember to tag us at @shergoldguitars and use #shergoldguitars so we don't miss it.

Q: Shergold Guitars aren’t available in my country – how can I buy one?
( + )

We currently have dealers in the UK and in parts of Europe. Many of these are able to ship overseas and are used to dealing with overseas transactions so it’s best to get in touch with them. You can find and contact all of our dealers here

Q: Is my new Shergold guitar covered by any kind of warranty?
( + )

As with all retail purchases, your contract of sale / warranty is directly with the store that you purchased the product from. So, in the event of a warranty claim or the need of a repair, you should contact your local main dealer– preferably the retailer from which you bought the instrument. In the event that the store from which your made the purchase goes out of business, you can contact any other Shergold Guitars retailer who should assist.

To claim under warranty, you will need a copy of your original purchase receipt. Where a product requires repair or replacement under warranty, most likely the product will be returned to our technicians who will assess and report back to the store, who in turn will advise you of the next steps.

Q: What if my guitar needs a repair but is outside of its warranty period?
( + )

For repairs outside of warranty terms, your local Shergold Guitars retailer will be able to offer advice and a possible fix for the issue either in store or by using a local specialist guitar tech.
